Big Ol’ Jet Airliner, Single Cup, Coyote Songs
“Oh, oh big ol’ jet airliner
Don’t carry (him) too far away
Oh, oh big ol’ jet airliner
‘Cause it’s here that I’ve got to stay…”
These lyrics from the Steve Miller Band pretty much sum it up. We were up early this morning and Dexter and I drove Steve to the airport for his flight back to Boston today. We both agree he needs to stay longer next time! It was really fun having him here and hard to see him go.
We’re both a bit tuckered out from the excitement of the holiday and our travels, so Dexter and I came back to the camper and lazed around enjoying a bit of a rest. I went out for groceries and supplies late in the afternoon but that was the sum total of my accomplishments for the day! I’m now enjoying a lovely cup of coffee made in the single-cup Keurig my DH gave me for Christmas. Am I spoiled or what?
…and how cute is that cup my sister Mary gave me?!?
On our evening walk Dexter and I heard the coyotes singing in the brush near the campground. I’m careful to keep him close on a leash knowing that they are around. Interestingly enough, he wanted to run towards the sound rather than being spooked by it. It’s a good thing I had a tight hold on the leash or he may have tried to join the pack!
I have 5 more days here at Catalina State Park and hope to get out and do a bit more hiking. The weather has been glorious, it was 75 and sunny today. That sun sure feels good on these old bones!
