Rusty’s RV Ranch, Pot Luck Dinner, Evening Campfire Conversation
Nestled between the Arizona Chihuahua Mountains and New Mexico’s Peloncilli Mountains I’m settled into Rusty’s RV Ranch for the next month. I arrived just in time to get unhitched and finish my pasta salad for the potluck gathering that is a weekly event here at the park, thanks to Bob who helped me find my campsite and get settled. My neighbor Karen came over to be sure I knew about the gathering and introduce herself. She and her husband Steve are here from Wisconsin. I had cooked the pasta and made the dressing before I left Leasburg Dam State Park this morning so I just needed to chop a few herbs, some mozzarella cheese, Kalamata olives, and cherry tomatoes to finish it off. It’s an Ina Garten Pasta Salad recipe and tasted yummy! Not much was left so I guess everyone else enjoyed it too. Our hosts, the park owners Rusty and her husband Tim, provided homemade pizza and wings. Other campers brought a variety of side dishes and everything was delicious. After supper I went back to the camper and retrieved Dexter and we enjoyed sometime around the campfire . Good Food, Good Conversation, and a Campfire. It doesn’t get any better than this!
