Sick Puppy…

Well it’s 4:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve and Steve and I have been nursing Dexter since 11 yesterday evening when he started vomiting and having diarrhea every 20 min. After 5 hours of that, we decided to bring him into the emergency care center since he was getting very dehydrated and showed no signs of slowing down. They’re taking good care of him here at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson, rehydrating him and settling his system down so we can all get a rest. We think he must have eaten something inappropriate outside. Dexter loves to nibble on unusual and interesting items found on the ground and we can’t always get to him before he swallows it. We’re hoping to finish up here within the hour and get back to the camper and settle in for a long winter’s nap!

  1. Oh, poor baby! Get better fast, Dexter. You have presents to open! We got our first snowfall here in Kansas last night.

    • Brrr… that sounds chilly Joan! It’s been cold here at night in the thirties, but no snow. Warms up wonderfully during the day though it was 75 today! I think Dexter is going to feel well enough tomorrow to open his presents! Merry Christmas to you and yours!!

    • Thank you so much Martha little Dexter is feeling much better this evening and we’re hopeful that he will be back to his usual bouncy self tomorrow. It is difficult when little ones are sick especially around the holidays but we are very fortunate to have the resources that we do. I hope you and your family are enjoying a wonderful holiday
